Meet Ingrid: The Heart Behind Tastey Threads

Hey there fellow foodies, I’m Ingrid, I’m the founder of Tastey Threads and I would like to give you a big warm welcome!  Tastey Threads’ journey has been long and winding, it all started back in 2023 when I purchased a point and shoot camera and started taking pictures of everything and anything.  I’d visit different walking trails, gardens and anywhere outdoors where nature was just waiting for me to capture it.  Then when I least expected it, I was let go from my 9-5 and found myself working two part time jobs.  One was as a car parts delivery driver and the other as a cashier in a home furnishing store.

When a Haircut Led to a Life-Changing Conversation

Then one day during a hair appointment, (because a girl still needs to look and feel beautiful), I was showing my hairdresser some of my shots and she happened to mention that one of her other clients was taking an online food photography course.  I couldn’t believe it, by this time I had fallen in love with photography and the thought of doing it full-time seemed like a dream waiting to come true.  But wait, shooting food, it was only getting better, it was the answer I was looking for.  She introduced me to this other client, we met, and she told me the course was completely legitimate and went on to explain how graduates have gone on to work with food bloggers.

I was already enjoying taking photographs with my point and shoot.  Oh, I forgot to mention, before I had been let go, I was taking photography classes with a great local photography instructor.  He has since passed on but we had become very good friends. Ok, back to food photography.  I enrolled in the course and as it turns out my little camera was not suitable.  I reached out to my instructor, and he was kind enough to lend me one of his. Halfway through, I started thinking how I was not aware of any fashion brand that is dedicated to us foodies and our adventurous and creative spirit.   We have brands that are dedicated to martial arts, sports and anime fans but no culinary fashion that expresses our love of food in a fun creative way with a splash of adventure and using real photography.

My initial idea was to create beautiful, elegant photographs of food favorites, aiming for the equivalent of the Mona Lisa. But after some thought, I thought it was too boring and decided to give the designs a humorous twist. Humor is priceless, we can never have too much of it, and when you pair it with food, it’s the perfect combination.  I have no doubt that your Tastey Threads will be a conversation starter and spark compliments.  I had way too much fun creating this food-themed apparel, and I know you'll have just as much fun wearing them.  Remember, with Tastey Threads, not only can you have your cake, but you can wear it too!
